1. Our Core Privacy Principle

HealthLens is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Your health data never leaves your device. All data processing, visualization, and export generation happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad. We have no servers that receive, store, or process your health information.

2. Health Data We Access

With your explicit permission, HealthLens reads the following data from Apple HealthKit:

Activity & Fitness

• Steps
• Walking & running distance
• Flights climbed
• Active energy burned
• Basal energy burned
• Exercise time
• Stand time
• VO2 Max

Heart & Cardiovascular

• Heart rate
• Resting heart rate
• Walking heart rate average
• Heart rate variability (HRV)
• Blood pressure (systolic & diastolic)

Body Measurements

• Weight
• Height
• Body mass index (BMI)
• Body fat percentage

Other

• Sleep analysis
• Blood glucose
• Respiratory rate

HealthLens requests read-only access. We never write data to Apple Health.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Your health data is used exclusively on your device to:

• Display daily health summaries and trend charts
• Generate export files in CSV, JSON, or PDF format
• Present data through the iOS native share sheet when you choose to export

We do not use your health data for advertising, marketing, analytics, or any purpose other than providing the app's features directly to you.

4. Data Storage

• Health data is queried from Apple HealthKit on demand and held in memory only during use
• Export files are temporarily written to the app's sandboxed storage on your device
• App preferences (selected metrics, unit system, theme) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage
• No health data is stored in iCloud, any cloud service, or on any external server

5. Third-Party Services

HealthLens uses one third-party service:

• RevenueCat: Used solely for subscription management and purchase verification. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts to validate your subscription status. No health data is ever sent to RevenueCat.

We do not use:

• Analytics or crash reporting SDKs
• Advertising networks
• Social media integrations
• Any other third-party data processors

6. Apple HealthKit Compliance

In accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:

• We do not sell health data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers
• We do not use health data for advertising or marketing purposes
• We do not disclose health data to third parties without your consent, except as required by law
• We do not use health data for any purpose other than providing health and fitness services to you
• Health data accessed through HealthKit is not stored or transmitted to any external service

7. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal or health data with any third party. When you use the export feature, your data is shared only through the iOS share sheet, which you control entirely. The destination of exported files (email, files app, AirDrop, etc.) is your choice alone.

8. Children's Privacy

HealthLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used this app, please contact us so we can address any concerns.

9. Your Rights

Because all your data stays on your device, you maintain full control at all times. You can:

• Revoke HealthKit access at any time through Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > HealthLens
• Delete all app data by uninstalling HealthLens from your device
• Delete individual export files from your device's file system

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, these rights are inherently fulfilled. If you have questions, contact us below.

10. Medical Disclaimer

HealthLens exports data from Apple Health for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical decisions. Data accuracy depends on the sensors and apps that recorded it.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the Last Updated date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
